The Association was founded by six occupational therapists who have
been practising both in Trinidad and Tobago and internationally.
2004 was an auspicious year in that we had not only 4 Occupational
Therapy practitioners return to Trinidad, but 2 visiting Occupational
Therapists from England volunteer amongst us for some months.

been practicing occupational therapy primarily with the adult
population in trauma hospitals, skilled nursing facilities
and adult day centres in the USA. In the past year, on returning

and maintained a home health adult private practice. Her clinical

Mrs.
Rosemary Green
Founding ACOT Representative
Mrs. Rosemary Green is a Trinidadian born therapist who trained
in the UK and obtained her Diploma from Botley's Park School
of Occupational Therapy in 1967. She worked initially in the
field of Psychiatry, moving into community work and then into
physical medicine with a special interest in Oncology and Terminal

returned to manage a small unit of therapists in a Rehabilitation
hospital. From there she moved to manage the Occupational Therapy
service for Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust, the largest non teaching
hospital in the UK., where she stayed until taking early retirement
and accepting the challenge of starting an Occupational Therapy
service for the hospital and community of Tobago. Alongside
her clinical work, Mrs. Green was involved with the British
Association and College of Occupational Therapists working over
the years at local, regional and national level when she was
elected a Vice Chairman of the College and Association; a position
which she held for a number of years. Mrs. Green started work
in Tobago two years ago and is now expecting the TRHA to employ
a second therapist in order to expand the developing service.
