• During
November and December 2004 we had three O.T students from Canada,
who were in Trinidad and Tobago on a paediatric fieldwork experience.
During their time here they assisted with the education campaign
and the launch of the association, proving to be a great support
at a tender stage of TTOTA's life.
• Philippa
Allen, a basic grade O.T from England was with us from September
2004 to February 2005. Philippa was working as a volunteer at a
school for children with physical dissabilities in Port of Spain,
Trinidad. During her time with the association she gave valuable
support to assist with the success of the lauch, and crucially,
birthed the concept of the lotus flower for TTOTA's logo!
• Nicola
McGarvey, a senior 1 O.T from Wales in the U.K was volunteering
with the association from October 2004 until June 2005. Nicola jointly
developped the education campaign, gave support to association members
and provided assistance on various levels (from promoting the association
to heavy involvement in a number of specific projects). Her husband,
Steve (from Ireland) is a multi-media designer, and provided technical
support to create TTOTA's logo and designed this web site!
Future
Opportunities for Volunteers
At TTOTA we seek to promote the use of skills of individuals that
may wish to volunteer with us. As yet we cannot give specific details
of volunteer opportunities, but as and when they arise, they will
be posted here.
However, if
you wish to know more about volunteering, and have specific goals
in mind, please e-mail us with your ideas and intentions, and we
will consider the possibilities of your request.
